This Friday Feb26th we are having our Last Friday party. Featuring the music of The Wailiens with Eric Soulivin of The Luminaries. A guest speaker form ANSWER LA will be here,  also Sam from Sugar Cane Juice will be giving out free drink samples. So please join us to advance peace through music, food and community.

This is an opportunity for all to come out and gather together with the community. We will be having special musical guests and a fundraiser. Stores and cafes will be open late!

Richard Castaldo

Candidate for US Congress

30th Congressional District

 

Richard Castaldo was born in San Diego, CA in 1981.  He lived in Denver for 15 years and moved to L.A. in 2007 to attend SAE Institute, where he received a degree in sound engineering.  He is currently an engineer and musician.

He attended Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado and was a victim of the infamous shootings there in April, 1999; consequently, Richard remains in a wheelchair due to a spinal cord injury.  Because of this, he has been a subject of numerous documentaries including “Bowling For Columbine” and “Peacejam”.  He has also been involved with non-documentary projects.

 

Platform

 

1.  Defund All wars of Imperialism.  (Including Iraq, Afghanistan, and

Pakistan)

2.  Single-payer not for profit healthcare.

3.  Abolish corporate "Personhood".  Rights belong to human beings not

Corporations

4.  Terminate the Patriot Act and restore the Bill of Rights

5.  End Corporate & Bank bailouts and create Green jobs

Saturday March 21st 12-7pm - with sunset drum circle at the beach! This year our annual birthday bash is on the equinox, so that we can celebrate both the advent of the spring season as well as the longevity of the cafe and the green, westside community (3 years!!).

MUSIC: It's an all day bash from 12-7pm with musical performances hosted by Truth-I, featuring local favorites like amazing songwriter Aras, our very own Matt Amsden, conscious reggae star Cipes and our folk-rock neighbors Terraplane.

SAMPLES: Vendors are lining up to join us, educate the public about superfoods, and share their latest products.

RAFFLES: Gift baskets galore and even a juicer will be raffled off to anyone who eats at the cafe on Saturday.

SALE: 10% OFF FOOD ALL DAY.  That's our gift to you!!

DRUM CIRCLE: Led by Truth-I.  Bring your drums, digeridoos and musicmakers to the cafe, we will head down to the beach at 6:30 to drum out the winter on its last sunset.  Sunset happens at 7:10, so be there to say goodbye to winter and hello to Spring.
