The Shiva Project

Matt and I want our dear friend Shiva to lose 80+ pounds by August 15, 2011. We decided to help him do it through the power of raw food, exercise, and emotional healing. 

Why we're doing it

Now is the time for transformation on so many levels. As a society we have to step up our game.  While transformation is a personal journey for me, it also means offering support to those around me, because I believe the power of community is built through mutual exchanges of support and of unwavering commitment to the highest potential around us.

So, although helping Shiva is a great gift to him personally and huge gift to me as I begin to contemplate my role as a healer in the lives around me, I truly feel Shiva's weightloss journey will be a gift to all of those who come in contact with it, both directly and indirectly. His story is our story, his challenges are deeply resonant for so many of us and his willingness to share that pain and triumph will serve to knit our community ever tighter in a pattern of mutual support. The terms of the deal

Shiva started living on raw, vegan food last week from Rawvolution exclusively, he gets shakes, soups and one entree daily. He is committed to 6 days of cardio at the gym, a minimum of one hour per session. He has weekly sessions with a healer to work on the core emotional issues surrounding the weight gain. His job is to lose at least 80 pounds by August 15th.
