We are committed to using conscious, planet saving methods in every aspect of our service. From composting our food scraps for fertilizer and fuel, to providing biodegradable to-go ware, to our exclusive use of non-toxic cleaning supplies and recycled office supplies; ELR is a City of Santa Monica Certified Green Business and Sustainable Quality Award Winner.
Janabai Amsden
Since 1996 Janabai Amsden has been involved in many facets of the natural health industry. She is an accomplished yoga teacher, trained in India and is well versed in meditation, anti-stress techniques and raw food nutrition. After running a holistic spa and retreat in the South of Thailand, Janabai returned to the United States to create a hip, relaxed health oasis in Southern California. Upon meeting raw chef Matt Amsden; that dream was realized with the creation of the Euphoria loves Rawvolution cafe. Janabai lives according to her own "eco-vision." She truly "walks the walk" and is devoted to helping those around her create a consciously aligned world.
Matt Amsden
Author of RAWvolution: Gourmet Living Cuisine (published by Harper Collins 2006), Matt Amsden has established himself as one of the world's premier raw chefs. Matt's company RAWvolution was the first of its kind, delivering prepared raw meals throughout Los Angeles and eventually throughout the entire United States. Matt began eating a diet of exclusively raw foods virtually overnight after hearing an interview with author David Wolfe on the Howard Stern show in 1998. Matt has since opened the Euphoria loves Rawvolution cafe with wife Janabai in Santa Monica, expanded the RAWvolution delivery service to New York City and has shared his talent with thousands including Alicia Silverstone, Cher, and Susan Sarandon.

Staff are supplied with organic cotton uniform shirts, offered generous discounts on everything we sell and are encouraged to bring their home water jugs to fill at the café's state-of-the-art custom water filtration system.
